Enhance your studies with an international experience without having to travel abroad. The University of Innsbruck is offering students from Aurora partner universities four online courses taught in English and focusing on current European, climate and digital challenges. You can earn between 2.5 and 5 ECTS credits as well as a certified microcredential. Applications are open only until 26 July 2026.

Bachelor’s students can apply for:

  • Perspectives on Europe in a Global Context (5 ECTS), which combines history, politics, law and culture. Working in an international group, students will explore European integration, migration, conflicts, the media, climate policy and representations of Europe in literature and art. The online course will take place from 20 October to 4 December 2026. It can subsequently be combined with another course to earn one of two microcredentials focused on understanding Europe.

Three courses are available to Master’s students:

  • Lecture Series on Climate Protection (2.5 ECTS) will offer an interdisciplinary perspective on climate change, energy, global climate policy and practical solutions from 14 October 2026 to 27 January 2027. The course can be combined with a course on sustainability communication to earn the Climate Action & Sustainability Communication microcredential.
  • Assessing Climate Change Impacts and Adaption Strategies (5 ECTS) will give students an opportunity to work with real-world climate data, assess the impacts of climate change and develop adaptation strategies from 8 October 2026 to 2 February 2027. Students who successfully complete the course will receive a standalone microcredential.
  • Aspects of Digitalisation: Special Topics in Ethics and Digitalisation (5 ECTS) will focus on ethical issues related to artificial intelligence, algorithmic bias, open data, search engines and recommender systems. The course will run from 6 October 2026 to 2 February 2027 and will include lectures, discussions and student presentations.

You can earn ECTS credits for successfully completing the courses. To find out whether these credits can be recognised as part of your degree programme, please contact the mobility coordinator responsible for Erasmus and similar programmes at your department.
