Are you ready to make your research matter on the global stage? The Aurora Symposium on Global Citizenship invites academics to step beyond disciplinary boundaries and contribute to a vibrant international exchange on the role of higher education in shaping a more just and sustainable world. Taking place in Amsterdam on 27–29 May 2026, the symposium will bring together researchers, educators, and practitioners committed to peace, inclusion, social responsibility, and societal engagement.

By submitting an abstract, you gain the opportunity to present your work on an international stage, increase the visibility and impact of your research, and connect with a diverse academic community across Europe and beyond. Contributions are welcome in the form of presentations, posters, or interactive workshops, showcasing innovative research, teaching practices, or community-engaged initiatives that connect to one or more of the following symposium themes:

  • Peace, Conflict, and Social Justice
  • Community Engagement and Civic Participation
  • Education for Global Citizenship

Academics from all career stages are encouraged to apply. Abstracts (250–300 words, in English) can be submitted until 30 January 2026. Selected contributions will become part of an inspiring programme focused on dialogue, collaboration, and real-world impact.

Submissions may address theoretical perspectives, methodological approaches, practical experiences, or collaborative initiatives. The best submissions will be awarded a prize in four categories; best abstract, best poster, most community engaging initiative, and initiatives that contribute most to peace!

If you are ready to amplify your research, expand your network, and help shape the conversation on global citizenship, this is your call.
